CALABANGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE 

HISTORY

In the interest of providing accessible education to the marginalized and working youth, the Calabanga Community College was founded on April 12, 2002, through the initiative of then Municipal Mayor Ruben B. Medroso and housed in Calabanga National High School The Sangguniang Bayan of Calabanga enacted resolution No. 2002-147 establishing CCC. On June 7, 2002, the Commission on Higher Education granted CCC a permit to operate two (2) Baccalaureate Courses: Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in General Science, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Entrepreneurship. The BSBA program was granted Government Recognition No. 09 Series of 2005 on May 17, 2005, while the BSED Program was granted Government Recognition No. 26 on November 25, 2005. Later, the BSBA Program was renamed Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, while the BSED Program became Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Biological Science.

CCC is also one of the local colleges and universities covered by the free higher education provision. The college also offers a Bridging Program for students who attended high school before the implementation of the K-12 Program. As the student enrollment increased and the school maintained a high LET passing rate, the College expanded its course offerings to include three (3) more Bachelor of Secondary Education majors (English, Social Studies, Mathematics) starting AY 2018-2019 and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Bachelor of Physical Education starting AY 2019 - 2020.
